End of Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) Support

In August 2020, Microsoft announced that they will be dropping mainstream support for Internet Explorer 11 (IE11) in August 2021. Microsoft already stopped supporting IE11 in some applications in November 2020. IE11 is an old browser that does not support the functionality of modern websites and therefore degrades the user experience considerably. There will also be security risks for anyone using IE11 once their support is discontinued.

Following this announcement and in light of the fact IE11 users across all of our technology (websites, DMS, eCMS) account for less than 1% of total users, we will also be discontinuing support for IE11. This means that we will block access to the DMS (including Extranet) and eCMS for anyone logging in with IE11 and we will no longer support or style websites or applications for use with IE11 from the following dates:

  • Websites (support/styling)- with immediate effect
  • eCMS - 13th April 2021 (subject to planned release schedule)
  • DMS and Extranet - 12th May 2021  (subject to planned release schedule)

If you still use IE11 we would recommend that you switch to using the latest version of a modern browser such as Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Mozilla Firefox. You may need to contact your IT team if they have prevented you from upgrading your browser.

Please note that this will also affect businesses who are using the Extranet and they should upgrade their browser or switch to using Chrome or another modern browser.  You may wish to inform them of this, however we are able to detect if a business is using IE11 and will post a notification on the login page advising them that they will need to change their browser.
